Helping Hands Outreach

Redeeming Grace A.M.E. Zion Church has a ministry called "Helping Hands Outreach" that distributes food and clothing to the homeless, single mothers and the elderly. The outreach takes place every Tuesday at noon. Several volunteers help set up and dispense the food and clothing. The recipients are given the opportunity to select items they want, this gives them a sense of dignity and respect. They have bananas, cantaloupes, cakes, bread, bags of salad kits, and several other assorted items. They typically feed about 300 children and 400 adults each month. They also deliver several boxes of groceries for homebound people. Each week Pastor Kris Nichols of Redeeming Grace picks up over 1,000 lbs. of food from Daily Bread Ministries.
