REDEEMING GRACE
A.M.E. Zion Church

Our Mission

Loving God and loving others.
Jesus said, "The first in importance is, Listen, Israel: The Lord your God is one; so love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy. And here is the second: Love others as well as you love yourself. There is no other commandment that ranks with these." Mark 12:29-31 MSG

Objectives

• Loving God   To love God means to give Him all. This is a learning process, and it will happen in portions we can handle. As a member of Redeeming Grace, it is important to participate in Bible Study, Sunday School, and Worship. This is where we learn of God's great mercy and this is where He will reveal truths that will set us on the right path. God will use those who have been on this journey to share testimonies of past experiences that will encourage and help develop our faith.

• Loving Others   Jesus said: "This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples--when they see the love you have for each other."   John 13:35 MSG

This Church has a mission call to bless those in need. It must be done in love. Part of the way God will use us to Restore Lives is by treating people with dignity. We must always look at those we help with an attitude of thankfulness to be able to serve, for we ourselves could be in a worse condition if it were not for the Grace of God. A warm greeting with a smiling face can do more than any plate or clothing we can give.

Provide for the needs of those we come in contact with in both the physical and spiritual
"When he finally arrives, blazing in beauty and all his angels with him, the Son of Man will take his place on his glorious throne. Then all the nations will be arranged before him and he will sort the people out, much as a shepherd sorts out sheep and goats, putting sheep to his right and goats to his left. "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Enter, you who are blessed by my Father! Take what's coming to you in this kingdom. It's been ready for you since the world's foundation. And here's why:

I was hungry and you fed me, I was thirsty and you gave me a drink, I was homeless and you gave me a room, I was shivering and you gave me clothes, I was sick and you stopped to visit, I was in prison and you came to me.'

"Then those 'sheep' are going to say, 'Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?' Then the King will say, 'I'm telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me-you did it to me."
  Matthew 25:31-40 MSG

Objectives

• Physical   God has called us to provide for the physical through the provision of food and clothing. We have a food pantry and clothing closet "Helping Hand Ministry" which is available to all that have need. Our pantry also includes personal hygiene items. We receive donations as a means of supporting these ministries. Also we serve meals at Bible Study, Sunday School and Worship. These meals are called Stone Soup (explanation). Attending service or study is not required to receive food or clothing. Scriptural reference Acts 2:42-47.

• Spiritual   Jesus said: "Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I'll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age."   Matthew 28:19-20 MSG
